Pio Pio Words, a Bilingual Nursery Rhyme Educational iPhone App

The Pio Pio Words app provides a great way for children to improve their vocabulary in English and Spanish by using the famous and most treasured Spanish nursery rhyme “Los Pollitos Dicen.” This bilingual component supports second language acquisition and the preservation of popular loved nursery rhymes in both languages.

The app includes the following:

-The Learn Words game consists of flashcards that display key words from the song “Los Pollitos Dicen” in English and Spanish and uses each word in a sentence.
-Children are rewarded with a sticker when they complete each flashcard in the Learn Words game
-The Match Word game allows children to match the English and Spanish words.
-A short animation is displayed every time the child matches three words correctly
-A video of the song “Los Pollitos Dicen” is also included within this ap.

Pio Pio Words was created by Nene Toys Productions, LLC., a company founded by a Kindergarten Elementary School teacher and mother of two children ages four and two. Many of the concepts and ideas for the games were provided by the four year old, which is the creative art director. The Arrurrú Friends digital books and videos were created to teach children nursery rhymes and early basic skills such as numbers, colors, shapes, and letters.
